The problem is that there is simply no bridge to help him to cross. Skillfully design and construct an architecturally-solid bridge to bear the load of Charlie and his Cargo, and get them safely across the ravine, back to Charlie's home.

Once you are happy with your design, click on the Arrow in the top left corner of the game screen to test out the bridge alternatively, hit the Return Key on your keyboard. Once you click the Arrow, you are brought to the actual level, and your bridge will be in place. If its a well-made structure, it should remain upright across the ravine. However, if it is flimsy and not strong enough, it will collapse. If the bridge seems solid and upright, hover your mouse over Charlie, and Left Click to set him on his way.
If he successfully crosses the bridge and reaches the cargo, click on him again to make him bring the load of goods back to his home on the left side of the ravine. If he makes it back safely across, you progress to the next level. Tip: To create the sturdiest possible bridge, try and give it a solid foundation with triangular arrangements of diagonal and horizontal beams. This should hopefully give Charlie the necessary support that he needs.
